SHENANGO TOWNSHIP

It is a township located in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.  As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 7,633. The township has a total area of 63.3 km  (24.4 mi ). There are 7,633 people, 2,854 households, and 2,171 families residing in the township. The population density is 120.7/km  (312.6/mi ). There are 2,996 housing units at an average density of 47.4/km  (122.7/mi ). The township the population is spread out with 24.1% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 102.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males.  The per capita income for the township is $19,068. 5.2% of the population and 4.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 7.2% of those under the age of 18 and 3.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line. NEW CASTLE

It is located in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 26,309. It is the county seat of Lawrence County. The city has a total area of 22.2 km˛ (8.6 mi˛). 22.1 km˛ (8.5 mi˛) of it is land and 0.1 km˛ (0.04 mi˛) of it is water. There are 26,309 people, 10,727 households, and 6,725 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,189.5/km˛ (3,082.0/mi˛). There are 11,709 housing units at an average density of 529.4/km˛ (1,371.6/mi˛). are 10,727 households out of which 27.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.2% are married couples living together, 16.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.3% are non-families. 33.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.36 and the average family size is 3.01city the population is spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 21.3% from 45 to 64, and 20.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 85.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 80.8 males. Median income for a household in the city is $25,598, and the median income for a family is $32,539. Males have a median income of $30,112 versus $20,754 for females. The per capita income for the city is $13,730. 20.8% of the population and 17.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 33.8% of those under the age of 18 and 11.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
